Fort Bliss soldiers take staff ride to Fort Stockton

Last week the historic fort grounds in the city hosted live reenactments and “The 1873 Fort Stockton Mutiny,” a tour and history lesson regarding the court-martial of the 21 buffalo soldiers in 1873 led by Allen Mack - founder of The Living History Foundation.

Fort Stockton ISD Teachers of the Quarter

Belva Houston was named the Alamo Teacher of the Quarter at last month’s school board meeting. Houston is currently teaching ELAR and social studies at the Alamo campus. Houston has worked for Fort Stockton ISD for 52 years.

Ramirez, Calderon recognized by Precinct No. 2

Pecos County Precinct No. 2 Commissioner Robert Gonzales presented service awards to two employees last week. Jesus Calderon was recognized for five years of service in the parks department and Veronica Ramirez was recognized for 10 years of service as an administrative assistant.

Where Ya Headed?

While touring West Texas, a traveling family coordinated an overnight stay in Fort Stockton before visiting Fort Davis. “We’re from Helotes, which is close to San Antonio,” began Carlos.
