Decking the malls with nostalgia

Body Iread a great piece in the Tribune-Review about the nostalgia many Pittsburghers hold for their favorite old suburban shopping malls — especially around the holidays. Malls around the country are in trouble these days.

Be salt

Body It is that time of season when everyone gathers, food making, and create more memories. When you are cooking it’s good to have all the ingredients but most importantly is to add salt to make sure its tasteful and not tasteless or bland.

Holiday like the French

Body The holidays are all about food, whether it be the traditional holiday meals or all the little yummy appetizers you have before the meal or at parties.

Tech workers brace for possible job killer

Body Like the proverbial bad penny that keeps reappearing, lousy immigration bills are hard to kill off. Consider the EAGLE Act of 2022, also known as Equal Access to Green Cards for Legal Employment, or formally recognized as H.R.

Dear Editor,

Body I see where the Pecos County Commissioners Court paid $1,800 to an aviation company to remove two coyotes from some ranches. That’s $900 per coyote.

The magnitude of your memories

Body Igrew up believing that you judge a man by the size of his Christmas tree. Each December my father and I would jump in our Willys Jeep and rush over to the local drive-in theater.

How we should bear good fruit

Body We often think of winning one more soul for Jesus, when we hear verses about bearing good fruit. Who doesn’t want to be a good tree in order to bear good fruit. I for example, am concerned about not producing and being cut off and thrown into the fire.

Mites, might be a problem for Mexican petunias

Body Dear Neil: What can be used to kill these insects, and what are they? I’ve looked closely at your photo, and best I can tell, it matches up with this information from Florida about a microscopic mite Acalitus ruelliae, and a growth problem called an erineum.

The retreat of tradition

Body If I were to guess, I would imagine many of my readers, at some point in their lives, received a food gift during the holidays. At what point did this lose its appeal. Have we become so indolent that we just can’t be bothered.
