Fort Stockton’s only movie theater will become a memory on Dec. 31 due to “failure to establish an amicable landlord-tenant relationship” between Panther Pictures (operated by Collette and Lino Barragan) and the City of Fort Stockton. The Barragans lease the space at the Fort Stockton Convention Center, a lease that began a 36-month term on Sept. 26, 2022, but could be rescinded without cause by either party with 90 days’ notice.
The theater at Panther Pictures is filled for the theater’s final “Teen Night” Dec. 22. The movie theater will close Dec. 31 because the city terminated the lease for the theater at the city-owned Fort Stockton Convention Center. Photo provided be Collette Barragan
