Former Iraan High School graduates and current Angelo State University student athletes Axcel Santana and Cannon Andrews were name to the Lone Star Conference All-Conference Track & Field Teams for the superior performances at the LSC Indoor Championships Feb. 20-21.

Andrews, a junior, placed second in the men’s weight throw at the event with a throw of 59 feet 3 1/2 inches, earning his team eight points. Andrew only finished behind his teammate, Decio Andrade, who broke the LSC weight throw record at the competition via a toss of 65-11 1/2 inches.

Andrews’ effort earned him second-team all-conference honors.

Santana was named to the LSC third-team for his third place outing in the men’s triple jump. The sophomore’s best mark was a leap of 47 feet 3 inches.
