The Fort Stockton Prowlers powerlifting team competed at the regional powerlifting meet on March 4 in Monahans and amassed 43 team points, earning the Prowlers second place.

Rosa Hernandez was named outstanding lifter and was also awarded the meet’s outstanding deadlifter en route to earning an individual gold medal for the Prowlers in the 97-poound weight class.

Yadira Hernandez, a three-time state qualifier, placed first in her weight class to earn the Prowlers another seven points. Belle Urbano, Beverly Baeza and three-time state qualifier Alyssa Rangel placed second for the Prowlers in their respective weight divisions.

Rosa Hernandez, Yadira Hernandez, Jasmin Hernandez, Urbano, Rangel and Baeza all earned spots to the state meet in Frisco on March 17 at the Comerica Center.
