Panthers XC put to the test in Lubbock
The Fort Stockton cross country team received their toughest test this season on Sept. 25 at the Lubbock ISD Invitational.
Both divisions featured over 100 runners and the Panthers were able to come away with three top-30 finishes.
Ali Jackson led all Fort Stockton runners with an eighth-place finish in the girl’s two-mile race. Jackson crossed the finish line in 13 minutes 10.8 seconds. Returning state qualifier Leslie Esquivel took 29th place out of 117 runners.
In the boy’s 5K race, Fabian Perez finished in 29th place (18:07.8) and Juan Vela crossed the finish line 23 seconds later to place 41st out of 112 runners.
Randy Sandoval placed 100th, Ezekiel Soto took 102nd, and Kian Iseli placed 108th.
In the girl’s race, Natalie Molinar finished in 79th and Priscilla Trevino took 111th.
The Panthers will head to the Big Bend Mountain Ramble in Alpine on Saturday, Oct. 2 at Kokernot Park.
