In football, scoring over 21 points is commonplace in today’s game.

In baseball, it’s a rarity.

The Fort Stockton baseball team bats defied that by scoring an equivalent of three touchdowns and a two-point conversion in their seasoningopening victory at Presidio on Feb. 22.

The Panthers recorded 16 base hits and stole nine bases on the night in route to a 22-6 win.

Josiah Trejo started on the mound and recorded the win in three innings of work.

Cruz Rojas pitched two innings and Felipe Sotelo finished the game with one inning of work. The Panthers will next be in action on Thursday, Feb. 24 in their first game of the Comanche Classic vs Fabens at 4:30 p.m.
