JV Panthers basketball claim win over Loboes

The Fort Stockton junior varsity boys basketball team was down 18-16 at halftime to Monahans in a home contest on Feb. 3 – the second meeting between the teams this season.

The Panthers went on to outscore the Loboes 26-13 in the second half en route to a 42-33 win.

Aundre Washington led the Panthers in scoring with 10 points.

“To start the second half we were determined to get the win over the Loboes,” coach Sean Romaka said.

The junior varsity Prowlers lost a one-point affair and the freshman Prowlers came away victorious from Friday’s contest.

The JV girls fell 30-29 and the freshman program claimed a 36-34 win.

Alexia Dominguez led the junior varsity team with seven points and Rylee Weist had 13 points, pacing the freshman squad.

Prowlers sub-varsity teams sweep Andrews The Fort Stockton girls junior varsity and freshman teams defeated the Lady Mustangs by double digit point totals in their season finales. Dmya Vaughn netted 17 points in the junior varsity’s 42-32 win.

Addison Castro put forth an equally impressive performance for the freshman team with a team-high 15 points.

The freshman Panthers lost a close game to Andrews behind a sensational scoring night by Ryan Chavez, who dropped 29 points in a 5651 loss for Fort Stockton. Kasch Norman added eight and Kaiden Sotelo had six.
