Make it two firstplace finishes in a row to start the season for the Fort Stockton girls powerlifting team.

The Prowlers claimed top honors as a unit at the Andrews Mustang Powerlifting Classic by way of five individual titles.

Gabriella Renteria, who was named Miss Fort Stockton at this past summer’s Water Carnival, earned outstanding lifter in the lighter weight divisions with a 750 pound three-lift total (deadlift, bench, squat).

Izabella Diaz, Tori Wilkins, Rosa Hernandez, and Yadira Hernandez each earned gold medals in their respective weight classes.

Beverly Baeza placed third with an 865-pound lift total. Janean Gonzalez and Ariana Balderas received fifth place for the Prowlers.

Due to weather conditions, the Prowlers will not be traveling to the Dumas Invitational on Feb. 5. The team’s next meet is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 10 at Pecos.
