PECOS 44 PANTHERS JV 35

The Panthers held a threepoint lead going into half and the fourth quarter during a home game on Tuesday, Jan. 19 in a meeting with district foe Pecos.

But Fort Stockton’s junior varsity squad could not hang on and fell 44-35.

Marco Garcia led the team with 14 points. Kye Norman finished with seven points.

The Panthers will look to bounce back on the road on Friday against Monahans.

PECOS 40 PANTHERS FRESHMAN 38

Andre Quiroz was dialed in from deep during the Fort Stockton Panthers freshman basketball teams outing at home on Tuesday against Pecos. Quiroz knocked down four triples to finish the contest with a team-high 12 points.

Pecos was able to overcome the freshman’s stroke from deep, escaping with a 40-38 win over Fort Stockton. Julian Leyva finished with eight points while getting to the line three different times. The Panthers will take on Monahans next, on Friday in Monahans.

PECOS 44 PANTHERS JV 35

The Fort Stockton Panthers JV basketball hosted Pecos on Tuesday, January 19th and lost by a score of 44-35. The Panthers held a three-point lead going into half and the fourth quarter, but could not hang on. Marco Garcia led the team with 14 points. Kye Norman had a second team high in points, finishing with 7. The Panthers will look to bounce back on the road on Friday against Monahans.

ANDREWS 67 PANTHERS JV 22

The Fort Stockton Panthers JV basketball tipped off against Andrews on the road on Saturday, Jan. 16 and fell by a score of 67-22. The Panthers kept the game within range in the first half, only trailing the Mustangs by 10 at half.

However, a rough third quarter let the game slip away. Luis Medina led the Panthers with 10 points, while Marco Garcia had five.

ANDREWS 61 PANTHERS FRESHMAN 24

A slow start negated a competitive second half in the Fort Stockton Panthers freshman team’s 61-24 loss to Andrews on Saturday, Jan. 16.

“The Panthers got off to a rough start in the first half but came back and played much better in the second,” Fort Stockton coach Hunter Grice said.

AJ Granado and Josiah Trejo led the Panthers with eight points apiece. Jordan Carrillo also did a good job of coming off the bench and knocking down two 3-pointers.

ANDREWS 42 PROWLERS JV 23

The junior varsity Prowlers were short-handed only on Saturday in an away match against Andrews, suiting up only seven players in the contest.

Fort Stockton came up short, falling 42-23 to Andrews.

“They competed until the final buzzer,” Fort Stockton coach Breeann Sturges said.

Leading scorers for the Prowlers were Amaya Urias and Briana Flores with six points each. Yvette Lopez added five points. Yadira Hernandez put in four points. Ivanna Ortiz tallied a team-high 6 steals. Jahel Encinas and Keanna Torres both exhibited great effort on the defensive end.

ANDREWS 52 PROWLERS FRESHMAN 34

Fort Stockton High School’s sub varsity squad fell to Andrews 52-34.

Leading scorers included Estrella Aguilar with 10 points and Nayeli Ramos with nine points. The Prowlers will have a bye against Pecos and will look ahead to Friday’s game at Monahans.
