The future of the Panthers golf team has the potential to be bright for many years to come.

Fort Stockton middle schooler Brayde Barragan showcased his skills on the golf course over the past two weeks.

Barragan finished in 10th place at the Greenwood Middle School Tournament two weeks ago by carding a round of 93. Barragan followed last week with a ninth-place finish in Monahans, earning medals at both events.

Barragan led the Panthers to a fifth-place finish as a team at the Greenwood tourney and a fourth-place finish at the Monahans tourney.

Gerry Diaz finished just outside the top 10 with a round of 93 in Monahans. Damian Gonzales carded a 104 and Cody Young finished with a 110 – totaling a 399 score for the Panthers.

Jonathan Bueno paced the Fort Stockton B team with a 107 and Emiliano Robles had the secondlowest score of the squad with a 117. Ethan Nunez shot a 124 and Allan Leyva ended his round with a score of 130.

Andrews won the event with a team score of 340 and Midland Trinity took second (373).
