A year after the first COVID-19 shutdown, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act, the $1.9 trillion coronavirus legislation that has little to do with coronavirus at all. The third of its kind since 2020, the bill was proposed with the intention to provide COVID relief, and bailout states with federal funds.

While justified criticism about President Biden’s border fiasco rages on, an interesting and significant legal action has gone largely unnoticed. Texan Brian Harrison, formerly President Trump’s Department of Health and Human Services chief of staff, and co-plaintiff Steven Pace filed a 20-page brief in an Amarillo federal court seeking to resume the Trump-era, no exception practice of returning unaccompanied minors to their home country.

This week we will be exploring the first statement to come out of the Protestant Reformation - Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone). This sola is based upon what the apostle Paul writes in 2 Timothy 3:14, “16 - All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 - that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

As the border conditions worsen, concerned Americans wonder where and when the crisis will end. If left unchecked, President Biden’s existing come-one, come-all policy will allow about 1.2 million illegal immigrants to settle in the U.S.

I need someone to tell me what’s happening. Not a tinted version of events but what’s really happening. I make the request because mainstream (if there is such a thing) news outlets seem to fundamentally disagree about what’s important.

Over the next month, I would like to spend some time exploring the Five Solas. These solas came out of the Protestant Reformation during the 16th century. To further explain exactly what the Protestant Reformation was, let us break up the two words and define each of them.
