National Men’s Health Week and Father’s Day
This is National Men’s Health Week, culminating with Father’s Day on June 19. The purpose of this week is to increase awareness of preventable health problems, and to encourage early detection of disease among the male population.
Check out the Tips For a Healthy Life by the Center for Disease Control, and share these tips with the men you love. Looking for a Father’s Day idea? Consider something that encourages activity such as a bike, canoe or kayak, free weights, a pedometer, a GPS system for jogging or hiking, or new athletic shoes. Or give the gift of time, and plan an outdoor activity to share. Another idea might be a health cookbook, or a book on men’s health issues.
Now, after being active, serve up the perfect Father’s Day brunch. Ac knowledge dad’s special day with lots of love and a gift that goes straight to his palette, a delicious breakfast/brunch using “Flavors of America” by author Jim Coleman’s. Prepare Savory Waffles with Cremini Mushrooms and Anyway He Likes Them Egg recipe. Use peaches and soft, medium, or hard boiled eggs for the recipe, depending on how dad prefers them.
However you serve up this dish, it’s a gourmand’s delight and a novice’s treasure because it’s so quick and easy to make but tastes like it comes from a pro-fessional kitchen. Dad will know he’s loved with this dish! The best part about this recipe is that there is plenty to share.
Look forward to dairy tips next week for June is National Dairy Month.
