Jesus teaches us to serve, John 13:1-17

Here we read on how Jesus washed the disciples’ feet which was a custom that was performed by a servant. Jesus was teaching the disciples to serve even to the point of humbling Himself as a mere servant.

In verse 14 Jesus says,“If I then, the Lord and the Teacher wash your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.”

Yes, service to others is extremely important as it reflects the fruit of the Spirit and the love of Jesus. Foot washing was very common in the time Jesus walked the streets of Jerusalem. Ask yourself, what is something I might do to serve another person? How far are we willing to humble ourselves that we may reflect the love of Jesus to all?

Lord Jesus, help me to be more like You so that someone in need of my service may be blessed.

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

All for Jesus.
