I love this time of year
RELIGION BRIEF
I try to find a little time outdoors, alone because it gives me time to think and reflect. It is nice and cool and such a peace and calm in the air and in my inner being or soul. It has not always been that way in my life. For years there was a lot of unrest, frustration and no inner peace or real joy and wondering about my relationship to God.
I really hoped that when I stood before God my good deeds might outweigh my wrong or bad deeds. That all changed one night when a man explained about Jesus Christ and the importance of His death on the cross and His resurrection from the grave. I understood that He died for my wrongdoings and took my punishment, (Romans 5:8-11, John 3:16).
But I needed to ask Him to forgive me and put my faith or trust in Him so I would be in good standing with God, (John 3:36, John 5:24). I knew I had a lot of wrong things in my life especially in my teenage years and later on in college. It was not easy but I asked Him for forgiveness and asked Him to be my Lord and Savior, (1 John 1:710, Romans 6:16).
Wow what a change, what a joy and the beginning of a new life, (1 Thessalonians 5:9, Romans 6:22&23). Today I am still enjoying that new life.
See you in Church next Sunday.
