William “Bill” J. Turner of Fort Stockton, Texas passed away on September 21, 2026, in Odessa, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Sanderson High School Auditorium in Sanderson, Texas, with Cary Shackelford officiating. Burial services will follow at the Cedar Grove Cemetery with arrangements by the Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend.

Bill was born on the Temple Stumberg Ranch in Terrell County to Jackson Calvin Turner and Mary Elizabeth Turner on December 30, 1947. He spent his early school years in Sanderson before graduating from Alpine High School. He married Judith Elaine Isleib on August 31, 1968, in East Bernard, Texas. Bill started his career in 1969 with the El Paso Natural Gas Company, eventually retiring from Chevron in 2001 after 32 years of service. An avid golfer, Bill was a longstanding member of the Pecos County Golf Club where he could be found on the Desert Pines course working to refine his game while enjoying the sport he loved.

Bill was preceded in death by his dad, Jack Turner; his brother, Jerry Monroe; and his mother, Mary-Beth Kyle. Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; his son Jerry (Cindy); his brother Bud (Judy) Monroe; his sister Elizabeth Poppell; his grandsons Gil and Lane Turner; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the Odessa Medical Center for critical care doctors and staff.
