Thelma Ramirez, 64, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away in Midland, Texas, on March 15, 2023.

Thelma was born in Ozona, Texas, to Santiago B. and Guadalupe Cantu on Sept. 23, 1958. She is the oldest of 11 brothers and sisters. She graduated from Fort Stockton High School in 1977.

Thelma was a licensed vocational nurse and worked as a nurse for several decades in Fort Stockton. She was an accomplished nurse in Obstetrics and assisted in the birth of countless babies in Fort Stockton.

Thelma was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She loved children and was blessed with great patience and a special ability to nurture babies. She worked tirelessly to provide for her sons and supported all their endeavors. Thelma was selfless and always put her family before herself.

She was loved and respected by all who knew her.

Thelma is preceded in death by her father, Santiago Cantu, and her brother Efrian Cantu.

Thelma is survived by her sons Jacob Ramirez and wife Ember Renteria of Fort Stockton, and Joshua Ramirez and wife Bethany Ramirez of Sierra Vista, Arizona; Brothers Santiago Cantu, Ray Cantu, Chon Cantu, Eddie Cantu, Alfredo Cantu, Steve Cantu of Fort Stockton, and Sam Cantu of San Antonio; Sisters Pat Cantu of Midland and Janie Lopez of Odessa; Mother Guadalupe Cantu of Fort Stockton; Grandchildren Ector, Jeremiah, Jackson, Jayan, Cataleya, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and loved ones. We were all blessed to have her in our lives.
