Sister Mary Felice Mojica, MCDP, 92, entered eternal rest on Sept. 20, 2022. She was preceded in death by parents, Cresencio Mojica and Petra Villarreal; siblings Blas Mojica, Benita M. Castro, Epifania M. Ancira, Petra M. Zendejas, Pedro Mojica, and Sabina M. Cardenas. She is survived by her sisters Rosa M. Montoya and Tomasa M. Guerra.

Sister Felice joined the Missionary Catechists of Divine Providence (MCDP) on June 2, 1946. She professed final vows on Aug. 5, 1954, and served in parishes throughout Texas, including San Antonio, Rosenberg, Pasadena/Houston, Sugarland, Dallas, Mercedes, Brownsville, Port Lavaca, Fort Stockton, and a year in Las Cruces, N.M.

She co-authored a teaching manual, “Beginning a Journey,” for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Children, and during retirement did volunteer ministry at Sacred Heart in Conroe, Texas, and in San Antonio at McCullough Hall with the Congregation of Divine Providence, where she spent the last year of her life.

Our gratitude to the Mojica family, the many employers, religious, and laity for their support and friendship to Sister Felice and to the Congregation of Divine Providence for the care provided.

Rosary and Funeral Mass were held in San Antonio on Sept. 27, 2022, at Annunciation Chapel, Sisters of Divine Providence Convent. Interment followed in San Fernando Cemetery No. 2.
