Robert E. Morrison
Robert E. Morrison, 62, known to all as Bobby, was born on February 25, 1963, in Odessa, Texas, to the late A. Keith and Lois L. Morrison. He passed peacefully from this life on May 8.
He was the youngest sibling to Patty Guzardo, Kenneth, and Keith Morrison— and arguably, his mother’s favorite.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents and, more recently, by his son, Robby Morrison.
He is survived by his sister, Patty, his brothers, Kenneth and Keith, his two grandchildren, and his beloved dog Boots, his faithful companion whom he loved more than most people as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bobby was truly one of a kind. He had no concern for appearances, preferring bib overalls and Harley-Davidson tshirts, regardless of the occasion. It didn’t matter how tattered or ready for the trash bin those clothes were—he wore them… much to the chagrin of his family, especially if they had to be seen with him in public.
He was strong as an ox, shaped by hard work, but those years weren’t kind to his body. Starting in the West Texas oilfields at age 16 gave him grit and callouses, but also a lifetime of pain that he carried every day.
Bobby loved his Harley— not in a showroompolish kind of way, but in the soul-deep kind of way. He dreamed of retirement, not to slow down, but to ride free and far, to his heart’s content. While his passing brings sadness and the wish for more time, there is also gratitude that he is no longer in pain.
We take comfort in believing he was welcomed by his loving mama and his son. And if he’s met up with his father... well, it might be best to leave those words undisclosed. Fly high, Bobby. You will be missed.
A Memorial Service, graciously hosted by Eternity Funeral Home, will be held on Saturday, May 17, at 2:00 p.m.
Arrangements are entrusted to American Heritage Cemetery Funeral Home Crematory in Midland.
