Ricardo V. Tavarez, of Fort Stockton, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Nov. 29, 2021, in San Angelo, Texas, at the age of 63. He was born on Nov. 21, 1958, in Marfa, Texas, to Jesus and Amanda (Villanueva) Tavarez.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Amanda Tavarez. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Lesa Stout Tavarez, and their children Richard A. Tavarez and wife Erica of Midland,Texas, Byron Stout and wife DeAnna of Comfort, Texas, Michael E. Tavarez of Nashville, Tenn., David R. Tavarez and wife Kelsey of Fort Stockton, Texas, and Amanda Mitchell and husband Rankin of Fort Stockton. Rick is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Areli, Siroc, Anna, Brooklyn, Emerson, and Clara; and three brothers, two sisters, and many nieces and nephews.

Rick was a long-time, faithful follower of Jesus Christ. He and his wife Lesa were married Aug. 2, 1990, in Fort Stockton. Rick worked hard at everything in life. His family was his motivation to work hard. He took his God-given role as his familys protector and provider very seriously. For those he loved, he was always available and ready to be there in time of need, and could be counted on every time. He was a family man through and through, and that legacy will impact generations.

Sincere thanks to our church families, to Warren Camp for his time and support, and to the medical staff at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Fort Stockton, Texas on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at 2 p.m.

Rick, we love you, and thank God for you. Your handprint will forever be in our lives.
