Oscar Rubio Moralez, 87, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away on May 10, 2023, in Odessa, Texas.

Public Visitation will be from 12-8 p.m. on May 17. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17.

Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Guadalupe Parish-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Thursday May 18 with Fr. Francis Njoku, officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are by Eternity Funeral Home.

Oscar was born in Presidio, Texas to Manuel and Guadalupe Rubio Lujan on Dec. 9, 1935. He married his wife (Betty) Elizabeth S. Moralez on Dec. 31, 1982, in Fort Stockton. He started out as a welder by trade and eventually he and his wife became the proud owners of the Burrito Inn Restaurant for 40 years, where he loved and enjoyed serving the community of Fort Stockton.

Oscar is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Guadalupe Lujan.

Oscar is survived by his wife Betty Moralez; Stepdaughter Yvette Renteria; Grandchildren Albert Aranda, Rubina and Jaron Garcia; Great-Grandchildren Amory, Alec, Paisley, Jolycia, and Vaylen; Brother Manuel Lujan Jr.; Sisters Adele Carrillo, Delma Rodriguez, and Imelda Ramos.

Pallbearers will be Jaron Garcia, Alec Aranda, Abran Ramos, Luis Carrillo, Alonzo Mendoza, Nestor Mendoza and Honorary Pallbearers Lalo Ybarra and David Flores.

The family of Oscar Moralez wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Odessa Regional Medical Center staff, CCU Doctors and Nurses who attended and cared for him the past few weeks, you all were amazing; The Eternity Funeral Home, which provided kind and caring services throughout the entire funeral process, and finally, all the relatives, friends and families that reached out to us to express their prayers and condolences, we greatly appreciate you all.
