Maria Carmelita Ramirez, 72, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away Jan. 8, 2022. Carmelita was born in Hale Center, Texas, to Alfredo Martinez, Sr., and Martha Baldera Martinez. Carmelita went on to marry her loving husband Antonio Tony” Ramirez on Feb. 21, 1980, and they lived a wonderful life together for 42 years until her passing.

Carmelita is survived by her husband Tony; her four sons, Manuel Martinez (Belia), Jimmy Martinez (Dora), Sammy Martinez (Shereen), and Eddie Martinez (Mari); brothers Alfredo Martinez (Mary), Santos Martinez (Josie), and Richard Martinez (Patricia); and sister Helen Villaescas. Carmelita is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great , as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

As a housewife Carmelita was known for her unconditional love and devotion of helping others. She loved her plants, and always has a hot meal for all who walked through her front door. She was a loving and caring person, and a devoted wife, mother, and friend, always putting others first. If you knew her, you loved her. She had a love and passion for riding her motorcycle anytime she could.

Visitation at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend in Fort Stockton will be Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, from noon-8 p.m. Rosary will be recited Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, at 7 p.m. Funeral services at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend will be Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at 10 a.m., with burial to follow at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery.
