Marcial Fabela Pacheco, Sr., 76, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Aug. 24, 2022, surrounded by family after a brief battle with leukemia.

He was born in Colonia Esperanza, Chihuahua, Mexico, on March 18, 1946, to Martin and Celia Pacheco. He had nine siblings, Roberto, Lorenzo, Rodrigo, Rene, Petra, Manuel, Nabor, Juan, and Vicente.

He married the love of his life, Juanita Rodriguez Pacheco, on May 25, 1967. Together they have five children, Rene Pacheco (Christina), Alfredo Pacheco (Jaqueline), Araceli Pacheco Rodriguez (Felipe), Marcial Pacheco, Jr., and Janet Pacheco Urias. He has 17 grandchildren, Evelyn Bradford, Alfredo Pacheco Jr., Leevanna Pacheco, Marisse Pacheco, Tiffany McDonald, Naila Gurrola, Nelia Gurrola, Shaylee Pacheco, Valerie Pacheco, Felipe Rodriguez III, Giovani Urias, Daniela Pacheco, Alhea Pacheco, Briana Pacheco, Andres Pacheco, Isaiah Pacheco, Izaak Pacheco; 16 great grandchildren; and one grand pup, Phoebe.

Marcial was a dedicated, hardworking man who worked as a roustabout for many years. He was a self-taught carpenter and architect, electrician, and plumber. He blessed many of our family members with construction of their homes, and was always available and willing to lend a helping hand, especially when it came to his children and family.

He was a food connoisseur, and known for his asado, barbecue, and love of a good pot of beans.

One of his many great qualities was his sense of humor. He was always ready to share a joke, a story from his childhood, and ready to cut a rug at any time. He was a composer of his own music, especially when it came to the love of his life, Juanita. He had a special relationship with each child and grandchild, and throughout the years acquired many nicknames. You all knew him as Marcial, but to his family he was known as Dad, Daddy, Papi, Marcel, Mr. Pacheco, Wellito, Weyo, Chicken Nugget, Marshall, Superman, Pachecito, and Agapito.

Marcial was a social butterfly, and cherished the friendships he had. He had many special relationships in his life, one in particular was with his best friend and son-in-law Felipe, who he considered his son.

We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to Dr. Bajaj, Jessica, Sissy, and Ryan at West Texas Oncology, Dr. Mallik, Medical Center Hospital, and Pecos County Memorial Hospital. Marcial made the best of his illness, and lived his life to the fullest. He leaves many memories to last and cherish a lifetime.

Rest easy Dad!
