Lydia Urias Marquez
Lydia Urias Marquez, 82 of Fort Stockton passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5 at her home in Fort Stockton surrounded by her children. Lydia was born in Fort Stockton, TX on November 15, 1943, to the late Jose & Guadalupe Urias. Having worked many jobs, she found her calling later in life as a CNA for Home Hospice & PCMH Hospice for 20 years until her retirement in 2020. Lydia was an avid Dallas Cowboys & Fort Stockton Panther fan always rooting for them. We knew better than to call her on Sunday at game time, as she was glued to the TV. Holiday season was her favorite time of the year because she knew it meant having all the family together, dressing up for Halloween, a full plate of turkey & dressing, or her favorite Christmas time games. Can’t forget her Santa suit when she comes to deliver presents. She was a devout believer in her savior Jesus Christ & lived out the gospel in her everyday life. Lydia is preceded in death by her parents, Jose & Guadalupe Urias, brothers Alfredo & Jose Urias, sisters Josefa Salas, Frances Ramirez, Lucia Sanchez & Esperanza Gonzales. And her “granddog” Regina. She is survived by her children, Sandra M Rivera (Miguel), Joe Marquez (Maria), Samuel Marquez & Maria Marquez & her bonus daughter, Rachel Rodriguez. Siblings, Amparo Granado (Cosme), Juanita Castro (Salvador +) & Eva Gonzales (Abraham+), Grandchildren, Alexia Marquez, Jordan Gonzales, Brandon Marquez(Hesmeralda), Brian Gonzales, Giselle Marquez, Alejandro Marquez, Karina Marquez, Henry Rivera, Rogelio Marquez, Great-Grandchild, Madalyn Mendez.
