Laural Jade Stout-Ellis was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Oct. 2, 2022.

Laural was born in Pecos, Texas, on Jan. 28, 1971. Laural grew up in Fort Stockton, Texas, and graduated from Fort Stockton High School in 1989. Laural loved sports and was very athletic. She excelled at any sport she participated in, she was also in choir and loved to sing.

Laural was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Joye Stout.

Laural is survived by her husband John Ellis of Coupland, Texas; her sisters Lesa Tavarez and Leslie Elliott and her brother-in-law Clinton Elliott of Fort Stockton; her brothers Joe Stout of Blooming Grove, Texas, and Justin Stout and sister-in-law Marti Stout of San Antonio, Texas. Laural, or Aunt Yaya or Lala as she was called, had nine nephews, six nieces, three great nieces and two great nephews.

Laural was filled with love for all her family and friends, and in turn was deeply loved by all her family and friends. Our baby sister will forever be in our hearts, as the poem written by E.E. Cummings reads, “I carry your heart, I carry it in my heart.”

Funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptists Church, 401 North Gillis in Fort Stockton.
