Juan Mesa Morales
Juan Mesa Morales, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on Sept. 10, 2021. He graduated from Fort Stockton High School, and married his sweetheart, Elida Aguilera.
He was a man of many talents, a Renaissance man. He worked with wood, transforming ordinary pieces of wood into beautiful works of art. As a carpenter, he remodeled and expanded his childhood home so his young and growing family would have a place to call home. And most of all, we know him as talented musician. He truly loved playing his guitar, and dedicated over 50 years of music ministry to the Fort Stockton community.
He is survived by his wife Elida Aguilera Morales; daughters Maria Elsa Larez and companion Guadalupe Lujan, Martha Franks, and Rachael Morales; sons Jaime Morales, Javier Morales, John Patrick Morales and wife Nancy Morales, and Manuel Morales; and 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, Genovevo and Petra Morales; brother Alberto Morales; sister Petra Ramirez; and great-grandson Isaiah Trey Mesa Morales.
Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Fort Stockton, Texas. Interment will follow immediately thereafter at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery. Visitation and Rosary were open to the public on Sept. 15, 2021, at Eternity Funeral Home in Fort Stockton.
