Jesus worked in the trucking industry for more than 35 years. He had a passion for horse racing and singing, and he especially loved cooking. He also loved cruising down Dickinson Blvd and all over Fort Stockton, visiting everyone, checking on family and friends, always with his music blasting in his ‘’Mamalona.’’ Known for his generous heart, Jesus was always willing to help someone in need.

Despite the heartbreaking loss of a son and his wife, Jesus remained joyful and strong. He carried himself with resilience, continued to love deeply, and touched the lives of so many. He knew countless people, and just as many knew and loved him. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

His family-his children, and especially his grandchildren-were his life. He showed his love in every way possible. To them, he wasn’t just a dad or a grandpa; he was their ‘’Superhero,” their beloved ‘’Welo.’’ Above all, he cherished every moment spent with them.

Jesus was preceded in death by his wife, Elisama E. Rivera; son, Jesus Nahum Rivera; father, Jose Angel Rivera Sr.; and brother, Jose Angel Rivera (Joe).

He is survived by his children: Erika E. Rivera and husband Noel Melendez, Miguel A. Rivera and fiancée Audrey Estrada, Myra Alejandra Rivera, and Isaiah Rene Rivera; his mother, Tomasa Rivera; siblings Hilario Rivera, Andrea Rivera, Joanna Rivera, Imelda Rivera, and Veronica Rivera; and his beloved grandchildren Janeah Rivera, Leanna Rivera, Jeremiah Rivera, Brianna Villarreal, Annalee Melendez, Deliah Rivera, Xamien N. Rivera, Tatiana Melendez, Adelynn Rivera, Sophia Villarreal, Noel Melendez Jr., and Ean A. Rivera.

Pallbearers will be Miguel Angel Rivera, Isaiah Rene Rivera, Noel Melendez, Hilario Rivera, Jesus Padilla, Jeremiah Rivera, Adriel Guzman, and Samuel Porras. Xamien N. Rivera and Noel Melendez Jr. will serve as honorary pallbearers.
