He is also survived by his children Arnie Gomez, Amy Porra and husband Billy, and Anthony Gomez; and his extended grandchildren Jazmine Reyes, Jayden Gonzales, and Nikki, Krystal, Kendrick, and Kriselda Porras.

Jerry was a very humble, caring, and giving person. Always doing for others. He graduated from JD Nixon High School in 1976. He also received his bachelors degree in Laredo. He was a retired Border Patrol agent, having served 27 years. He was an active member of People Church, serving as a security guard and also on the prayer team. He was currently employed as a court security officer at the Federal Court House in Pecos, Texas.

Jerry was the type of person who gave a 100% at whatever he did, whether it be cooking barbecue for his family or working on a house project. He always did everything out of love. He was a big enthusiast of cars, fishing, watching his Christian shows, and of course Netflix.

Jerry exemplified what it was to be a great provider, serviceman, protector, and Christian. One of his greatest accomplishments was being an incredible father and grandfather. The Lord blessed him with children and grandchildren who adored him.

Although no longer physically in this world, his legacy will be carried and celebrated through his family and friends. All who were influenced by him are all for the better, and are forever thankful to have shared in his presence and love.
