Jean Huckabee Holder, 84, passed away on Jan. 9, 2021 in Odessa, Texas. Jean was born in Lubbock County, Texas, to Richard D. and M. Maye Huckabee on June 20, 1936.

She went to school in Wolfforth, Texas. She married Earnest W. Holder on Feb. 14, 1956, in Wolfforth.

Jean worked various office administrative positions throughout her career, and retired from the Pecos County Extension Service after 21 years. She was involved with the 4-H organization during her time at the Extension Service, and loved working as a Pink Lady at the Pecos County Hospital after her retirement She served multiple years in leadership positions for the Pink Ladies before moving to Odessa.

There was a graveside service in Lubbock on Jan. 22, 2021, at Resthaven Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband of49 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Maye Huckabee; her husband, Earnest Holder; and both brothers, Roy Douglas Huckabee and Doyle Derwin “Bud” Huckabee.

Jean is survived by her children, Rodger Bryan Holder and his wife Sandy of Texarkana, Texas, and Sherrilyn Jean Mobley and her husband Terry of Odessa; her grandchildren, Amy Rouquette, Jennifer Hatfield, Eric Bartlett, Matt Holder, Blake Little, Kevin Holder, Ashlee Celenze, and Kaleigh Miller; and many great grandchildren who all loved her dearly.

Memorials maybe made in honor of Jean to the MatthiesBennett 4-H Scholarship Fund at P.O. Box 1357 Fort Stockton, TX 79735.
