It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Ismael Pacheco Bueno at the age of 81. Ish was a cherished man known for his kind, loving, caring, and humorous personality, who left us on December 9, in Pecos, Texas.

Ish lived a life filled with tremendous passion and service towards others. Ish truly knew that it was more blessed to give than to receive. His generosity knew no bounds. He was a man of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones.

Ismael Pacheco Bueno was born June 5, 1943 in Fort Stockton, Texas to Juan Bueno and Gregoria Pacheco Bueno. He graduated from Fort Stockton High School in 1963 where he was an outstanding football player, basketball player, and track star. His absolute favorite pastime was baseball, in which he excelled. He was known by many as the Best Pitcher. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Air Force. On April 12, 1969, he married the love of his life, Priscilla Banda at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He worked for Firestone Test Center, Nabors Oil Co., and J.V. Trucking.

Ish was passionate about his Catholic faith, involved in the church as an usher and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. However, his wife and family were always the most important part of his life. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was known as Uncle Mel to relatives and others and recognized for his kind spirit and driven work ethic. Ish was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, San Antonio Spurs, and our very own Fort Stockton Panthers and Prowlers.
