Hector Reyes
Hector Reyes, of Barstow, California passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, at the age of 74, surrounded by his family.
Hector was born September 14, 1950, in Alamo, Texas to Vicente and Esperanza Reyes. He grew up in Fort Stockton and graduated in 1971.
After graduating Hector enlisted in the Marines and traveled all over before being stationed in Barstow, California. Hector met his wife Josie Arcides in Fort Stockton, and they married in September 1973. They went on to have two daughters and two sons. After completing his term of service, he continued his dedication to the Marine Corps as a civilian employee for 40 years.
Hector was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Hector was a friend to all who met him. w, California. His five grandchildren, Cheyenne (Sean) Elmer of Spokane, Washington, Charles (Abby) Beason, Peityn Reyes, Maddisyn Reyes, Michelle (Jesse) Collabolletta-Witte all from Barstow, California and ten great-grandchildren. Brothers Javier (Jennifer) Reyes of Fort Stockton, Texas; Joe (Angelina) Reyes of Baytown, Texas; sisters Angie (Wally) Rubio of Fort Stockton, Texas, Maria (Cecil) Brunson of Panama City, Florida; Elizabeth (Arturo) Ramos of Fort Stockton, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hector was preceded in death by his parents, Vicente and Esperanza Reyes, daughter Ava Reyes, sisters Flora Franco and Elvira Rangel and brother Joel Reyes.
Memorial service will be on Friday, November 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Interment will be in Barstow, California on Monday, November 25.
