Enrique Segovia Olivas, 93, from Fort Stockton, Texas, took his last ride to our eternal home on Aug. 29, 2022, in Odessa, Texas.

Enrique, Dad, Welo, Tio, or Henry as many knew him by was born on the summer day of July 15, 1929, in Fort Stockton to Jose Olivas and Clara Segovia.

Enrique paved his own way, wrote his own rules, and nothing stopped him or slowed him down. If you said he couldnt do it, he would make sure to prove to himself that he could. Dad excelled in his handyman knowledge, and amazing landscaping artistic skills.

He had many traits, but our favorites are his infectious love, tenacity, compassion, sense of humor, charm, grace, and acts of kindness he showed to everyone he loved. He always made sure we all felt special. Many of us will miss our Saturday visits, and Welos famous cooking. If you ever tasted any of the meals he prepared, then you are aware of just how delicious his cuisines were.

Welo was exceptionally famous with his family for his asado, his photography skills, and we cant forget his dancing skills. Every lady wanted their turn on the dance floor with him. Enrique was very vibrant. He loved every color of the rainbow. He had endless stories of the beautiful life he lived. We hope you enjoy your everlasting dance in heaven, Welo!

Enrique was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings.

He will be sorely missed and survived by his sister Eloisa Estrella; children Sandra (Jesus) Benavente, and Refugio Olivas; grandchildren Miriam (Ramon) Prieto, Elisa Benavente (Martin), Lucille Gomez, Zulma Padilla, Noemi Velasquez, Erika Benavente, Bianca (Jace) Sparks, Sonya (Enrique) Rivera; 23 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a slew of friends.

The family of Enrique Olivas wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all who have poured out their love and support to us during this difficult time.

Arrangements were entrusted to Eternity Funeral Home.
