Elvira Bonilla-Torres passed away early morning on Friday, February 7, surrounded by her four beloved children in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She was born in Julimes, Chihuahua, Mexico on January 25, 1951, to Alberto Oviedo, the oldest daughter of 13 children. As the oldest daughter she tended to her siblings and eventually met Manuel Torres that she wed and moved to Fort Stockton, Texas where they raised their family and created a wonderful life for their children.

Elvira used her talent and devotion to perfection as a seamsters creating wedding, Quinceanera, prom, and formal dresses for customers from the local area. She became the local legend in Fort Stockton as a seamstress creating and sewing the infamous Paisano Pete Christmas outfit.

Even as her health limited

her ability to work, townspeople would ask her to tailor purchased dresses. She worked tirelessly to ensure stitch lines were perfect with none out of place and dresses fit like a glove.

Elvira was preceded by her parents, four brothers and is survived by two brothers and five sisters, daughter Priscilla and Alfredo Diaz, son Manuel and Brenda Torres, daughter Brenda and Ervey Leos, and son Obed and Consuelo Torres along with eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
