Elizabeth Dawn Baker, 63, of Fort Stockton, Texas passed away on Sunday, April 27.

Born November 24, 1961, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of Paul and Carol Laidly.

Elizabeth led a life of service, beginning by volunteering for the US Army where she served as a skilled Russian linguist. After earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Angelo State University she began a career in education and taught a variety of students ranging from grade school, intermediate, university, and adult correctional facilities. She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Church and was the head organizer of the food bank.

She was an avid reader and dog lover, and enjoyed decorating, gardening, and making Catholic faith pieces in her free time. She is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Joseph Baker, and their two sons, Liam Baker and Conor Baker.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church on Friday, May 2, at 10 a.m.
