Consuelo Cerda Lopez left us to rest in peace on June 30, 2021. She was born on Nov. 2, 1934, in Del Rio, Texas, to Jesus Cerda and Herlinda Borrego Cerda.

Consuelo was preceded in death by her husband Francisco M. Lopez, Jr.; her parents Jesus Cerda and Herlinda Borrego Cerda; siblings Dora Muller, Herminia Gutierrez, Anabelia Garcia, Guadalupe Cerda, Leopoldo Cerda, and Ramon Cerda; son Carlos Lopez; and granddaughter Michelle Lopez.

Consuelo is survived by children Oscar F. Lopez and wife Gloria Lopez of Alpine, Texas, Rosalinda Luevano and husband Abel Luevano of Sanderson, Texas, and George Luis Lopez, Sr., and wife Leticia Padilla of Kermit, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held at St. James Catholic Church on July 6, 2021, with the rosary after visitation. Funeral services were held the same day at the St. James Catholic Church in Sanderson.
