Bill Caldwell, 83 of Gatesville, Texas, passed away on May 21, 2022, in McGregor, Texas.

Celebration of life services were held May 26, 2022, at the Gatesville Church of Christ, with Minister Jim Hall officiating.

Bill was born on Nov. 19, 1938, in Hugo, Okla., to the late Willis and Ida Campbell Caldwell. He grew up in the Rock Hill community north of Hugo, and graduated from high school in Hugo.

He was a member of the Oklahoma National Guard.

He married Goldie Hamill on June 11, 1960. They resided in Fort Stockton, Texas, where he worked at the Firestone test center for 27 years.

While there, he was a deacon at the Church of Christ. He and his wife moved to Gatesville in 2007. He was a longstanding member of the Gatesville Church of Christ. He was a friend to everyone, and if you needed a smile, he would give you his.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Billy Caldwell; brothers and sisters Wayne Caldwell, Cecil Caldwell, Hugh Caldwell, Dillard Caldwell, Ollie Young, and Esther Creacy.

Bill is survived by his wife Goldie Caldwell; son Randy Caldwell and wife Mary; daughter Cara Bradford; grandson Nathan Caldwell; and two great grandchildren.
