Barbara June (Simmons) Pogue went to be with her Lord and Savior July 22, 2022, at her home in Monahans, Texas. She was born an only child to Rev. Robert F. and Ira Lena Simmons on May 16, 1933. After graduating high school, she married J.B. Pogue, and moved to Imperial, Texas, and together they raised five children, making their final home together in Fort Stockton, Texas. She was a homemaker, and played piano in church from the time she was a young girl until almost the end of her life. She loved working in the church and volunteered her time to various organizations, always helping others. Barbara was preceded in death by her ex-husband and her parents.

She is survived by one daughter, Pam Austin of New Mexico; four sons, James (Sheila) Pogue of Monahans, Robbie Pogue of Caddo Mills, Texas, Randy Pogue of San Marcos, Texas, and Paul (Kathy) Pogue of Sweetwater; seven grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. A private graveside service was held at Monahans Memorial Cemetery on July 26, 2022, with Pastor Jeppie Wilson officiating.
