Antonio “Tony” Mesa Urias, 82, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away on March 13, in Fort Stockton.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 18, from 10 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Eternity Funeral Home.

Funeral services weld held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Francis Njoku officiating. Burial will follow at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery. Arrangements are by Eternity Funeral Home.

Tony was born in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Santiago and Irene Urias on January 21, 1943. He married Rosantina “Rosie” Urias on August 24, 1968. A proud graduate of Fort Stockton High School, Tony served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and later worked as a Plant Operator for Mobil, retiring from Duke Energy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Eustolia “Toli” Avila and Asteria “Yella” Hernandez.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rosie; sons Anthony Urias (Amanda) and Aaron Urias (Ashley); siblings Aurora Gutierrez, Jimmy Urias (Mary), Petra “Nila” Acosta (Benjamin), Ologadia “Oly” Martinez (Richard), Gumecindo “Gummy” Urias (Corina), and Lorine Sotomayor; grandchildren Andrew (Sierra), Amaya, Alonso, Addison, and Aaron Ryan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be John Paul Hernandez, Jorge Benavente Jr., Humberto “Bert” Gutierrez, Carlos Borrego, Felipe Castro Jr., and Martin Munoz.

Tony’s love for his family and his faith in God were evident in everything he did. He was proud to have raised two sons who attended Texas A&M University and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events. He was a proud veteran and enjoyed participating in community Veteran’s Day celebrations.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
