Alberta Hagelgans Olivas
Alberta Hagelgans Olivas, who was born on March 18, 1965, in Alpine, Texas, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sept. 22, 2021. She was living in Louisiana with her loving husband John Coston. She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother.
Berta leaves behind three sons, JoJo Olivas and wife Jane and their children Brice, Teresa, and Madison, Eric Olivas and daughter Abigail, Adrian Olivas and sons Eric, Dominic, and Brandon and daughter Katherine; as well as her mother, and numerous siblings, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Otto Hagelgans.
Berta grew up in Sanderson, Texas. After high school she went on to become a registered nurse which led her to Fort Stockton, Texas, where she became a long time in-home nurse until she met the love of her life and found herself in Louisiana.
She always had a smile on her face, and was willing to help out anybody in any way she could. That meant she never let you leave without a full meal, and she loved to cook. One of her greatest joys was watching and hearing about her grandchildren's accomplishments, both in school and with their sports. Berta will be greatly missed by many. May she rest in peace.
Services for Alberta will be held Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, in Sanderson at the Heritage Garden. Services will start at 10 a.m., with a meal and celebration of life to follow.
Any donations wanting to be made in Alberta's name can be made at vascularcures.org/donation.
