Adan Nava Rivera, 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 17, 2022, after a brief illness. He was born in Valentine, Texas, on Nov. 29, 1933, to Lorenzo Rivera and Modesta Rivera. He served in the U.S. Navy, then worked his entire career with Enron, formerly Northern Natural Gas Co., until he retired.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sheila Tarin Rivera; brother and spouse Frank Granado and Mary Alice; children and spouses Emma Sue Woodard (Johnny Ramirez), Elva Jean Bailey (Russell), Elma Frazier (Keith), and Elvia Black (Lloyd); grandchildren Jody Rivera, Christa Etheridge, Julie Woodard, Amanda Ramirez, Jerilyn Woodard, Katelyn Murphree, Kyle Frazier, Joshua Bailey, Danielle Bailey, Meagan Bailey, Matthew Bailey, and Llyra Black; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lorenzo and Modesta Rivera; brothers Johnny Rivera,  Benjamin Villalva, and David Villalva; and sisters Elizabeth Baiza, Consuelo Rodriguez, Eva Chavarria, and Petra Escajeda.
Adan lived in Fort Stockton, Texas, for 68 years where he worked and raised his family. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He loved to read his Bible, whistle, sing, and play his guitar. He will be remembered for his love of the Lord and His written word. He was a faithful servant of Christ.
A Celebration of Life was held May 24, 2022, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall, Texas. A gathering of family and friends was held an hour prior to service.
