“Where Ya Headed?”

Body

It's not every day you see an artist standing in the grass painting a giant roadrunner, but that's exactly what happened here in Fort Stockton on March 22.

Soaking up the sun, painter Shea Daniel-Youngblood spent a few hours painting Paisano Pete outside the Chamber of Commerce Visitor's Center. Completely unfazed by the numerous cars passing by on Dickinson Boulevard, she appeared lost in the moment as she applied colors to her canvas.

Superintendent candidates narrowed to six

Body

The Fort Stockton Independent School District’s search for a new superintendent took an important step forward on Tuesday as a list of 45 candidates was reduced to six after a unanimous vote by the school board at the group’s special meeting.

FSISD hired a search firm – the Texas Association of School Boards – to aid in the hiring process and to help ensure the district selects the best candidate.
