“Where Ya Headed?”

Body

Holding his sandwich with two hands, traveler Bob Suzan sat in his van at the far corner of the Walmart parking lot. Barefoot and calm, he let his door hang open to welcome in the cool evening breezes.

"I'm originally from Massachusetts, but I've lived in California for 52 years," he began. "I've been out on the road traveling since April, so I'm finally headed back home. As long as I get back before Thanksgiving, my kids will be happy. I've been traveling a lot for the last three years, well, since my wife passed away."

Bob Suzan quietly finished a sandwich in the Walmart parking lot. Tucked inside his 1983 air-cooled Volkswagen, the traveling widower took his shoes off and rested from his hours out on the backroads.
