Southwest Marketers was presented the Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce February 2023 Business Spotlight on Feb. 13.

Southwest Marketers has been a longtime member of the Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce. Bentley King, owner and manager, went to work for Gene Cummings Oil Company following his service with the United States Navy in 1968.

“Gene and his wife Florence taught me the fuel distributor business. Gene was my mentor and they were both great to work for,” King said.

In 1969, Mr. King became a partner and purchased the business in 1980, changing the name to Southwest Marketers, Inc.

Southwest Marketers serves petroleum products to varied customers, including farms, ranches, service companies, and drilling rigs. They also sell propane to commercial and residential customers. They have locations in Fort Stockton, Monahans, and Midland. Mr. King’s son Jim manages their Midland Corporate office and the Monahans location.

Southwest Marketers is proud to have many long-time, loyal employees with over 30 years of service. Bobby Almanza at the Monahans location has been with the company for 45 years.

“We appreciate the loyalty of all our longtime customers,” King added.
