FSHS swimmers produce best times so far
Fort Stockton High School’s Blue Wave swim team competed in Seminole on Dec. 10 and produced their best times of the season thus far at the meet.
The girls’ 200-meter medley relay featuring juniors Zeeta Celaya and Paige Williams, sophomore Ella O’Tierney and junior Kassidy Pacheco had their best time of the year, scoring 18 points, while the boys’ 200 medley relay team featuring freshman Daniel Perez, senior Eric Gonzalez, junior Luke Pules and junior Julian Ontiveros had their first time of the year.
In the girls 50 free, Celaya, Williams, Pacheco and O”Tierney all competed for the first time in the 50-meter event.
Eric Gonzalez, Luke Pules, Daniel Perez, freshman Andrew Black and Julian Ontiveros all competed in their first 50-meter race as well. Gonzalez earned three points for his team in the event.
The girls’ 100 free had Pacheco almost match her best time while the boys’ 100 free had Luke Pules, Daniel Perez, Andrew Black and Julian Ontiveros finish with their best times.
The girls’ 200 free relay team (Pacheco, Williams, O’Tierney, Celaya) clocked their best time and scored 18 points for the Blue Wave ladies.
The boys’ 200 free relay team (Perez, Black, Gonzalez, Ontiveros) scored 10 points for the Panthers.
O’Tierney competed in the 100 backstroke and junior Paige Williams swam the 100-meter breaststroke race.
The next meet for the Blue Wave swimmers takes place Jan. 6-7 at the Andrews Invitational.
