Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) made a stop by the Fort Stockton Pioneer Office on Oct. 17 during a stop in the city to visit members in the community and officials. Gonzales noted that helping schools secure funds for school safety and mental health through grant funds has been one of his focuses in recent time. “The schools in the district have been a priority of ours. There’s 119 cities and towns in the district. We have been trying to work with schools to bring them dollars to help with mental health resources and school safety.” The incumbent Republican in the 23rd Congressional District of Texas added that this year’s campaign differs from when he was originally running for Congress in 2020. “This year has definitely been different than last cycle. I’ll say it this way, as the incumbent instead of campaigning, just do my job. That’ll kill two birds with one stone,” he said. Photo by Nathan Heuer
