The Lilah Smith Safehouse will hold their Second Annual Fundraiser at The Old ’76 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 19. The event which is themed “Stop the Violence End the Silence” will feature live music, performed by Clay Creek, Chris DeAnda, and The Texicans Band.

The Fort Stockton football team opens their season at home against El Paso Austin on Friday, Aug. 26 starting at 7 p.m.

AUG. 26-28

The Richard Reeves Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, Aug. 26 at Desert Pines Golf Course in Fort Stockton.

SEPT. 3

The O’Reilly Auto Parts Car Show will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their location - 1920 W. Dickinson Blvd. The show is free to enter.

SEPT. 23-24

The Reeves Memorial Cook-Off is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 23 and Saturday, Sept. 24. Friday will feature jackpot events (ribeye steak, salsa, margaritas) and Saturday will feature the State Championship Cookoff that features brisket and ribs. $20,000 in guaranteed prizes will be given out.
