The Fort Stockton girls basketball team needed a win on Feb. 4 at Andrews in order to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Prowlers (10-20) nearly defeated the Mustangs (7-21) at home – losing by six in their first meeting on Jan. 18 – and the result was nearly identical this past Friday in a 41-35 loss.

The defeat leaves the Prowlers in fifth place of the 4A District 2. Fort Stockton will close out the season against Pecos on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at home. Fort Stockton won their first meeting against the Eagles 64-39
