Charles Onmon Claburn, Sr., affectionately known as “Charlie ,”went to be with the Lord on Jan. 16, 2022. He was born on July 27, 1934, to Minnie Beatrice Denny Claburn and Joe Ollie Claburn.

Charlie grew up and graduated from Monahans High School, Texas, in 1953. Charles was a man of many talents. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, playing cards and dominoes, carpentry, and bowling. His ability to charm and make friends was second to none. Charlies smile and quick wit would warm your hearts and make you laugh. He found great joy in his friends and family who could always find him in his man cave enjoying life. Charlie was self employed and well respected in the oil and gas industry here in West Texas.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Otha Claburn, Gladys Harris, and Austin Claburn.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Claburn of Alamogordo, N.M.; sister Nellie Jo Hill of Santa Anna, Texas; five children, Chuck Claburn and wife Nancy of Granbury, Texas, Patti Stevenson and husband Mike of San Antonio, Texas, Mike Claburn and wife Sheila of Wink, Texas, Mark Claburn and wife Sarah of Mansfield, Texas, and Allen Claburn and wife Heather of Ozona, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
