Rebecca Ann “Becky” Wyche Hopkins
Rebecca Ann “Becky” Wyche Hopkins, 78, of Midland, Texas, passed away Nov. 27, 2021. She was born Jan. 19, 1943, in Fort Stockton, Texas, to June Pfiester Wyche Elkins and Billy Jack Wyche.
Becky grew up in Fort Stockton, and graduated Fort Stockton High School class of 1961. She was a member of the band and choir. Shortly after graduation she married Ronnie Hopkins on June 10, 1961. They settled in Midland, and started their family. Becky was mostly a stay-at-home mom, and loved taking care of her family. She liked to square dance, and loved animals. Her place was a shelter for many cats and dogs.
Becky is survived by her son Darrell Hopkins and his wife Sonya of Midland; granddaughter Michelle Rieman and her husband Mason, and grandson Michael Wayne Hopkins. Additional family surviving Becky are her cousins Roy Edward “Eddie” Pfiester, Sam Pfiester, Don Pfiester, Sherri Pfiester Basham, and Tony Green; and her aunt Gene Pfiester.
She was preceded in death by her mother June Elkins, stepfather Joe Elkins, and grandparents Eddie and Ruth Pfiester of Fort Stockton.
Graveside services were held Nov. 30, 2021, at East Hill Cemetery on the Sanderson Highway in Fort Stockton. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend.
