Veterans Day events scheduled in Fort Stockton

Numerous Veterans Day events are scheduled in the upcoming days in Fort Stockton.

The Annual Veterans Day Breakfast will kick off Veterans Day festivities in the city. The breakfast will be held at the Large Community Hall in Rooney Park at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11.

All veterans are welcome.

Alamo Elementary School will follow by hosting a Veterans Day program at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the school’s cafeteria.

Chris and Tracy Alexander are once again holding their Grace for Vets free car wash program that they’ve held for many years on Nov. 11 at the Tunnel Car Wash on Dickinson Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Annie Riggs Museum is giving away free yard flags in honor of Veterans Day.

A Veterans Day picnic will be held on Friday, Nov. 13 at Rooney Park Barbecue Pit.

On Sunday, Nov. 14, First United Methodist Church, in Fort Stockton (1501 W. 5th St.) will host a veterans appreciation program and free meal beginning at noon.

The church asks that people planning to attend RSVP with your name and the number of people in your party by texting 432-336-9777.

All veterans are welcome, and they have togo meals if preferred.
